Withlocals

Challenge: When COVID-19 grounded travel and shut down adventures, Withlocals, a platform connecting travelers with local hosts for private tours, faced a severe hit. The pandemic didn’t just affect the company; it left countless local guides jobless.

Insight: Adventure is less about distance and more about perspective and stories.

Strategy: We launched a social campaign to bring the world to people’s homes through live virtual city tours, offering immersive experiences and storytelling from local hosts.

Execution: Partnering with Trivago, which was also navigating travel disruptions and had just acquired Weekend.com, we leveraged their platform to boost our campaign. This collaboration targeted staycationers and local explorers.

Impact: The campaign created a global buzz, significantly increased participation in virtual tours, grew Withlocals’ online following, and attracted over 300 leads for Trivago’s new Weekend.com product.
